Police vow to hunt down perpetrators of Kwame Danso court, police station attack

The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that all individuals involved in Wednesday’s violent mob attack at Kwame Danso will be identified, arrested, and prosecuted.

The December 10, 2025, incident saw a group of youths launch coordinated assaults on both the District Court and the District Police Headquarters in the Sene West District. According to the Bono East Regional Police Command, calm has since been restored after swift intervention by reinforcement teams.

Police reports indicate that the disturbances began around 10:30 a.m., when an estimated 100 youths stormed the District Court during an active hearing. The mob vandalised furniture, fans and other items, forcibly freed two accused persons standing trial, and reportedly assaulted the complainant.

“The youth damaged items on sight and posed a threat to everyone present,” a police source said.

The violence later spread to the Kwame Danso Police Headquarters, where two officers on duty were attacked, and parts of the station were vandalised.
