Gunmen wearing masks reportedly stormed Sampa in the Bono Region on Sunday afternoon, opening fire in parts of the township during a violent clash between rival groups.
A police officer has been confirmed dead following the incident.
Security has since been tightened in the area as investigations continue.
The police administration is yet to comment on the matter.
