
The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested a man identified as Alhaji Abdul Wahab after a video surfaced online in which he allegedly issued death threats against the Minority Leader of Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and two others.
In a statement issued on Monday, September 15, the police confirmed that the suspect was apprehended in Koforidua.
He has since been cautioned and released on bail pending further investigations.
Mr Wahab is required to report to the Regional Police Headquarters in Kyebi on Monday, September 15, 2025, to assist investigators in their enquiries.
The statement, signed by DSP David Fianko-Okyere of the Public Affairs Unit, assured the public that the matter will be handled with fairness and transparency.
It also pledged that timely updates would be provided as the investigation advances.
