Police arrest 3 suspected kidnappers after fierce gun battle

The Northern Regional Police Command has successfully arrested three suspected kidnappers during an intelligence-led operation conducted on Saturday, December 6, in Bokpaba, a community located along the Bimbilla–Yendi stretch of the Eastern Corridor.

The suspects Haruna Seidu, Amidu Bandi, and Osman Bandi are believed to be members of a four-man kidnapping syndicate responsible for abducting a 42-year-old man from Wapuli in the Yendi District.

According to police reports, the suspects demanded a GH¢100,000 ransom from the victim’s family as a precondition for his release.

In a statement issued on Monday, December 8, the police noted that upon receiving information about the kidnapping, the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate (RPID) swiftly deployed a five-member team to Wapuli.
