A solemn state funeral service was held yesterday (August 15) at the Independence Square in Accra for the eight officials who tragically died in a military helicopter crash on August 6, 2025.
The ceremony, attended by the nation’s leadership and thousands of mourners, served as a tribute to the fallen heroes who perished in the line of duty.
The interfaith service was a final farewell to the victims, who included Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.
Also honored were Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, NDC Vice Chairman Dr. Samuel Sarpong, former parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye, and three Ghana Air Force crew members: Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
