Pharmaceutical Society condemns assault on pharmacy staff by soldier at Burma Camp

The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) has expressed deep concern and outrage over a viral CCTV video showing a non-uniformed officer of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) physically assaulting a pharmacy staff member and a female client at the premises of e-PRIDE Chemist located at Burma Camp in Accra.

The officer, identified as Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Mensah Williams, was captured on video attacking the victims in what the Society has described as a “barbaric, reprehensible, and utterly unacceptable act of violence.”

In a press release issued on Thursday, October 30, the PSGH confirmed that a delegation had visited e-PRIDE Chemist to verify reports and to offer direct support to the pharmacy’s care team.

The society assured the affected staff and client of its full backing and commitment to ensuring that justice is served.

“The Society unequivocally condemns this barbaric, reprehensible, and utterly unacceptable act of violence perpetrated against pharmacy personnel and a client,” the statement read.
