Development professional and author Petrine Addae has launched a new book titled Single and Being – Trust the Faithful God.

The publication reflects the author’s experiences and perspectives on singlehood and seeks to encourage women to embrace their individuality, pursue their aspirations and live purposeful lives while trusting in God despite societal pressures.

Speaking at the launch, Ms Addae said the inspiration for the book came after years of reflection on her own journey and the stories of other women navigating similar experiences.

“Single and Being has been a journey and more like a call. For a long time, I was not ready to write it because the subject of being single is very sensitive and rarely discussed openly. Writing this book meant laying myself bare to the world,” she said.

She explained that the book is built around three central pillars — posture, position and purpose — which she believes guide individuals in navigating life’s uncertainties.

According to her, posture emphasises the importance of maintaining gratitude regardless of circumstances. She noted that being unmarried should never lead anyone to lose confidence or give up on life.

Instead, she encouraged women to remain thankful for God’s goodness and the blessings in their lives, which she said helps them move forward with confidence.

The second pillar, position, focuses on placing complete trust in God. She explained that individuals must deliberately position themselves in a place of unwavering faith and trust in God’s promises.

The final pillar, purpose, highlights the need to discover and pursue one’s divine assignment in life. She noted that every individual is created with a purpose and that living in alignment with that purpose brings fulfilment.

“Ultimately, this book encourages people to trust God, discover their purpose, and live according to His plan. Life is not only about the things we acquire, but about fulfilling the assignment God has given us,” she added.

Launching the book, the Executive Director of Salt & Light Ministries, Rev. Dr. Joyce Rosalind Aryee, said the publication carries a powerful message about trusting God even when societal expectations suggest otherwise.

“The book really is about trusting God even when society is thinking something different. The whole message is about being yourself and understanding that one thing you may not have should not define your life,” she said.

The book’s foreword was written by the Vice President of Eastwood Anaba Ministries, Rev. Rosemond Anaba. It has also received endorsements from several prominent personalities, including Gifty Anti, Professor Hannah Acquah, Kofi Aryee and Professor Esi Awuah, who commended the author for addressing an important but often overlooked subject.

The launch attracted several dignitaries including Dr Naomi Wolali Kwetey, Managing Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana Ltd; Sheila Azuntaba, Deputy Managing Director of CBG; Dr Alexander Archine, Managing Director of OAK Financial Services Ltd; Apostle Baffour Kyei-Boaten, General Overseer of All Christian Evangelistic Ministries Inc.

Others are Rev Hosea Osei; Rev Michael Opare Darkwah; Rev Anthony Selom Dzadzra, author of Woman Redefined; Dr Stephen Okoe Corquaye of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital; gospel legend Diana Akiwumi; media personalities Natalie Andoh and Apiorkor Ashong Abbey; social impact advocate Vicky Amoah; and Ms Kate Wilberforce, Petrine Addae’s former English teacher at Wesley Girls’ High School.

Members of the Wesley Girls’ High School Class of 2002 were also present in large numbers to support the author.

Petrine Addae is an alumna of Wesley Girls’ High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Psychology from the University of Ghana.

She also earned a Master’s in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard University and an MBA from INSEAD in France.

She is the Founder and Advisor of the Enigysesem Foundation, which focuses on spreading the gospel, empowering vulnerable groups and transforming lives.

Professionally, she has worked as a consultant with the African Development Bank in Tanzania and has also held roles connected with the Ministries of Planning, Finance and Education across Sub-Saharan Africa in initiatives aimed at improving education through research, advocacy and programme design.

She currently serves as Head of Women Partnerships and Strategic Growth at Consolidated Bank Ghana.
