The second cohort of the curated, experiential agriculture learning platform, ‘Inspire by WeComm’ has received great reviews from participants for the practical nature of the initiative, and how it has given them a better perspective of Ghana’s agriculture sector, with many of them indicating their motivation to invest into the sector following the exposure they have had from the platform.

This is coming on the back of a massive turnout with participation from practitioners in the agriculture sector, potential investors, marketers, and public sector players.

It had participants from Agri-Impact Group, Mastercard Foundation, Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), Infinity 970, Fidelity Bank, Catholic Relief Services, Jobberman, Livewell Ghana Ltd, Access Bank,  and 24 Hour Secretariat, among other companies.

The participants were full of praise for the concept, and expressed hope that it will grow to be a focal point of reference in terms of instigating bigger interest in the potential of Ghana’s agriculture sector.

A Director at Infinity 970, Emmanuel Lamptey, was full of praise for the initiative, describing it as an eye-opener.

“I’m surprised that we have this kind of facility in this area. When we were coming, we were looking for where this would be; where are the billboards? Where the road signs will be and other things, but when we got here, we realized that a lot of investment has gone into this, and I believe it is a very good project. It is going to inspire a lot of people, and I’m happy you chose INSPIRE because it is going to inspire a lot of young guys who are now coming up, and I believe they will be working with it going forward.

“You know people even go to the university to pursue Agric., but at the end of the day, they don’t pursue it; after the degrees, they find something to do outside of agric. Sector. This is an inspiring venture, and I believe it will inspire a lot of young people,” he explained.

A young female participant, Lillian, could not hide her admiration for the work done at the Saletso Industrial hub in Akuse, and expressed satisfaction with the different approach adopted by the ‘Inspire by weComm’ project.

“Honestly, I’m impressed. Initially, I thought this would be one of those random tours, but after having gone through the tour and seeing how the millers go about their work, getting to know that women play a huge role at the milling stage is really inspiring. I took several videos, and I’m going to take my time to go through all of them, and I may probably set up a milling factory in the north”, she said

Another participant revealed the experience was a beautiful one, and he will sponsor some of his friends to attend the next cohort of the ‘Inspire by weComm’.

“I have been very much inspired; I like the fact that you picked up from the story of how Saletso Industries began, and the not-giving-up attitude of the owners. It is such a beautiful story and I have been personally inspired. This is my first time, and if there will be another cohort, I will encourage some of my friends to attend. I will personally pay for them to be here,” he told Agrigold TV excitedly.

An overjoyed participant added, “What I’ve seen here is very inspiring. It shows that agriculture is expanding here in Ghana, and also elsewhere. It is also a good thing to involve the youth to get them inspired and innovative to bring in more ideas about how we can change agriculture in Ghana. I’m very much inspired. I have an interest in agriculture, so to see this is a very big thing for me.”

The second cohort of ‘Inspire by weComm’ – a flagship experiential learning initiative developed to provide agriculture enthusiasts, young people, and corporate participants with an immersive glimpse into Ghana’s dynamic agricultural sector – was held at the factory premises of Evivi Foods at the Saletso Industrial Hub in Akuse, with sponsorship from Newage Agric Solutions Limited and Evivi Foods.
