The Committee on Trade, Industry and Tourism has pledged to support tax waivers for industries.
This forms part of government’s efforts to boost the private sector and create jobs.
The granting of tax waivers to multinational companies has been a subject of controversy, particularly in the previous Parliament, where the Minority opposed a $350 million waiver initiated by the former government.
However, Committee Chair, Alexander Gabby Hottordze, stated that his committee is ready to support the private sector as part of the government’s job creation agenda.
He said this speaking during a tour of Zonda Ghana as part of the Committee’s working visit to selected industries.
The Chief Executive Officer of Zonda, Yan Yang, also pledged to support the women empowerment agenda by offering more job opportunities to women.
