Office of the President collaborates with FALAS in strategic partnership ahead of 5th annual conference in Addis Ababa

The Office of the President of the Republic of Ghana, through its Diaspora Affairs Directorate (DAOOP), has announced a groundbreaking partnership with the Federation of African Law Students (FALAS), reinforcing Ghana’s Pan-African legal diplomacy and youth empowerment agenda.

The strategic partnership, officially affirmed in a statement by DAOOP, recognizes FALAS as a pivotal youth-led platform uniting law students and young legal professionals across over 45 African countries and diaspora communities in North America, Europe, and the Caribbean.

In what marks a significant moment for legal youth leadership on the continent, the Office of the President endorsed five major collaborative areas, including support for the African Continental Conference 2025, to be held from October 19–25, 2025, at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The conference, themed “Strengthening African Youth Leadership through Ubuntu for a United and Independent Africa – In Alignment with the 1 Million Next Level Strategy,” is a highlight of FALAS’ fifth anniversary celebration and will feature young lawyers, legal scholars, AU officials, and civil society actors from across the continent.

Speaking on the partnership, FALAS President Seyram Kofi Seyram expressed deep appreciation for the Office of the President’s recognition, emphasizing that this collaboration “amplifies the Pan-African vision of uniting legal minds across continents to shape the future of justice, identity, and governance in Africa.”

This partnership is expected to not only shape the 2025 Conference but also advance key initiatives including a Diaspora Legal Engagement Desk, youth legal internships, a Diaspora Legal Summit in Accra, and alignment of diaspora legal alumni networks with Ghana’s development strategy.

With this announcement, Ghana cements its role as a leader in Pan-African legal transformation and FALAS emerges as a defining voice in Africa’s legal and political future.
