The Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has accused Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the Member of Parliament for Assin South, of deliberately avoiding a security probe after making unsubstantiated claims about drug trafficking and money laundering involving two aircraft that recently landed in Ghana.

In an explainer posted on social media, Mr Kwakye Ofosu dismissed Rev Fordjour’s allegations as “total falsehoods and lies,” stating that the MP has failed to provide any evidence to support his claims.

According to him, Mr Ntim Fordjour, after being invited by security agencies to assist in investigations, shifted his position, claiming that he was merely speaking on behalf of a committee and that his statements were not personal.

He added that Mr Fordjour has since refused to cooperate with investigative bodies.

“The claims of Ntim Fordjour are false. He cannot prove it. That is why he’s running away from investigative bodies. He is unable to provide any shred of evidence to back his claim,” he stated.

“Reverend Ntim Fordjour has failed to honour the invitations extended to him by national security because he does not have a shred of evidence that he will ever be able to provide any evidence to back his claim, because none of the things that he said were true.”

According to him, “Because he [Ntim Fordjour] knew he was peddling total falsehoods and lies, he now says he was speaking on behalf of a committee and that the views were not his personal opinions. So now he refuses to cooperate with security agencies.

“I say that he was peddling falsehood because the facts as they exist vary completely from the claims that he made when he made that claim; he was only seeking to peddle falsehood in a bid to undermine the confidence that the people of Ghana have in this government,” he added.
