Winneba Secondary School is safely through to the one-eighth stage of the 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) after surviving a tense five-round battle inside the SGS Auditorium.
The contest, which swung like a pendulum between Winneba and Mawuko Girls, ended with Winneba pulling away late to post 33 points, ahead of E.P.C. Mawuko Girls’ SHS (27 pts) and Tuobodom SHTS (12 pts).

The drama peaked after Round Two, when both Winneba and Mawuko sat level on 21 points. Even after Round Four, the tie persisted at 27–27. But a firmer grip in the final round meant Winneba delivered when it mattered most.
The Problem of the Day did little to separate them as Mawuko managed 2/10, while Winneba and Tuobodom both crashed with 0/10, leaving the contest to be decided in the final bell round.

For Winneba, the job is done: a ticket to the one-eighth stage is secured. For Mawuko and Tuobodom, the chase ends here at least for 2025.
