NSMQ 2025: OWASS dominate semifinal to book grand finale spot against Mfantsipim and St. Augustine’s

Opoku Ware School has stormed into the grand finale of the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) after overpowering St. Peter’s SHS and Achimota School in a commanding semifinal performance that left fans electrified.

The three heavyweight schools locked horns in what many described as a “battle of the giants”, but it was the boys from Santasi who proved unstoppable, delivering a display of precision, teamwork, and composure that earned them a decisive victory.

The two-time champions (1997 and 2002) wasted no time announcing their intentions, racing ahead in the first round with 23 points, while Achimota managed 14 points and St. Peter’s struggled with 4 points.

By the second round, OWASS extended their lead to 24 points, maintaining complete control as Achimota stagnated at 14 points and St. Peter’s dropped to 3 points, their hopes dimming under OWASS’ dominance.

In the Problem of the Day, all three schools faced a tough challenge, but OWASS remained consistent, scoring 5 out of 10, while Achimota and St. Peter’s followed with 3 each.
