NSMQ 2025: Aburi Girls secures 1/8th spot with twin-powered comeback victory

Aburi Girls’ Senior High School made a fiery return to the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), storming their way into the one-eighth stage with an emphatic win that left no room for doubt.

After last year’s heartbreaking early exit, the dynamic twin contestants, Judith and Juliet, returned to the stage determined to rewrite their story, and they did just that.

From the first bell, Aburi Girls displayed unmatched composure and confidence, setting the tone for a dominant performance that thrilled their supporters.

In the opening round, Aburi Girls took a commanding lead with 16 points, ahead of Dormaa SHS 9 points and St. Mary’s Seminary SHS, Lolobi 8 points.

By the second round, their brilliance shone even brighter, stretching their lead to 26 points, while their opponents remained stuck at single digits.

As the contest progressed, the ABUGISS only got stronger. They closed Round Three with 32 points, before widening the gap further in Round Four with 40 points, leaving St. Mary’s Seminary SHS at 15 points and Dormaa SHS at 13 points.

The final round saw Aburi Girls seal their victory in style, ending the contest with a remarkable 48 points, well ahead of St. Mary’s Seminary SHS, Lolobi 26 points and Dormaa SHS 15 points.

It was a statement performance, one that not only secured their qualification but also reminded everyone that Aburi Girls are back, stronger and hungrier than ever.

Their twin-powered energy, sharp intellect, and relentless teamwork have reignited hopes of a deep run in this year’s NSMQ.
