The National Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that its Ad Hoc Committee constituted to oversee the conduct of the party’s presidential aspirant campaigns has commenced work.
In a statement issued on October 9, 2025, the Council said the Committee has begun monitoring the actions, statements, and public engagements of presidential aspirants and their campaign teams to ensure a peaceful, respectful, and issue-based campaign in line with the NPP’s values and traditions.
The Council cautioned aspirants, their spokespersons, and supporters to refrain from making offensive, divisive, or inflammatory remarks that could undermine party unity ahead of the presidential primaries slated for January 31, 2026.

“If any member of the Party or the general public comes across utterances or conduct that may cause disunity, they should promptly report such matters to the Committee,” the statement noted, adding that such reports must be supported by credible evidence and can be made in writing or through phone or WhatsApp communication.

Reaffirming the Council’s commitment to safeguarding party unity, the statement urged all aspirants to be guided by respect, fairness, and maturity throughout the campaign season.
“The Party’s unity and cohesion remain paramount before, during, and after the presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026,” the Council stressed.
It also called on members to work together in the spirit of discipline, mutual respect, and solidarity to ensure a peaceful and united NPP ready for victory in the 2028 general elections.
