A key campaign official for New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Dr Bryan Acheampong says the aspirant remains spiritually fortified and undeterred by any attempts at fear or intimidation as the party’s presidential primaries draw closer.
Andy Appiah-Kubi, a legal practitioner and senior member of Dr Acheampong’s team, said the former Minister for Food and Agriculture has received spiritual reinforcement from respected clergy and is embarking on his presidential journey with divine assurance.
“How would we be threatened when we have started with our belief in God, having obtained the fortification, the spiritual guidance, and the blessings of the Lord to start a journey that takes us nearly eight months? Victory is only waiting for us,” Mr Appiah-Kubi said.
He emphasised that the team would not be intimidated by the strength or stature of any opponent.
“We will not be intimidated by anybody’s presence, nor are we going to consider how strong somebody is,” he added.
Dr Acheampong recently visited the leadership of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, where he received prayers and blessings in the lead-up to the official launch of his presidential bid.
His entry adds further momentum to an already competitive race. Other notable aspirants include former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, and former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum.
The NPP’s presidential primary is scheduled for January 2026, as the party positions itself to reclaim power in the 2028 general elections following its 2024 defeat.
