First-time contender Akosua Manu, popularly known as Kozie, has been elected as the parliamentary candidate for the Adentan constituency to contest on the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) ticket in the upcoming 2024 election.

She polled 814 votes, closely followed by Kwasi Obeng Fosu with 638 votes and Kwame Obimpeh.

Miss Manu, who also serves as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Youth Authority, stated that the NPP was the only party capable of fostering development for the people of Adenta.

In Odododiodio, two-time contender Nii Lante Bannerman lost his bid to become the parliamentary candidate in 2024 for the NPP to Manaf Sowah, a first-timer.

The parliamentary-elect polled 349 votes against Mr. Bannerman’s 203.

The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Nii Lante Vanderpuye of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), bowed out of the race earlier this year.
