Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Lawyer Ekow Vincent Assafuah, has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) caucus will not engage in the expected showdown with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament.
He noted that per the leaked WhatsApp messages from the NDC’s platform on WhatsApp, the caucus is expecting a showdown.
However, the NPP, as a party that believes in the Rule of Law, will use the laws and not force themselves to occupy their position in the chamber.
“We are not going to give any showdown. We will not give them what they expect. The majority cannot be cooked in anyone’s room; it is the polls that can be used to get a majority.
The Supreme Court has stayed the ruling of the speaker and the laws of the land need to be respected by all,” he said on Accra-based TV3.
