New Patriotic Party General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua has called for unwavering internal cohesion to position the opposition as Ghana’s credible alternative ahead of 2028 elections.
Addressing the NPP National Delegates Conference on 19 July 2025, Kodua asserted that disillusioned citizens are scrutinizing the party’s readiness to govern amid economic hardship under President Mahama’s NDC administration.
“Ghanaians, youth, farmers, and traders seek an opposition that’s united and forward-looking,” Kodua declared, labeling NDC governance “abysmal” for exacerbating public suffering. He warned that internal divisions would undermine voter confidence, urging members to reject “acrimony and tension” that damage the NPP’s viability. His appeal follows similar unity calls by Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and Stephen Amoah during the conference.
Kodua framed the 2028 contest as a rescue mission, demanding “one body, one vision” to defeat the ruling party. The strategy session comes as delegates finalize constitutional reforms targeting youth engagement and ethical realignment after the NPP’s 2024 electoral defeat.
