Northshore Apparel Ghana Ltd, a pioneering sustainable apparel manufacturing start-up, has partnered with Coats Digital, a leading digital transformation partner for the fashion supply chain, to establish Ghana’s first regenerative apparel manufacturing hub.
The state-of-the-art facility, built on reclaimed land in Northern Ghana, will specialise in producing high-quality, sustainable garments for global fashion brands, including T-shirts, polos, fleece hoodies, children’s wear, sportswear, underwear, leggings, and trousers.
Speaking at the announcement, Nurideen Mohammed, Co-Founder and CEO of Northshore Apparel Ghana Ltd, said, “From the beginning, our ambition was to build far more than a factory. We wanted to create a regenerative manufacturing ecosystem that delivers dignity, opportunity, and long-term prosperity for Northern Ghana.”
The facility will create thousands of jobs and provide fair wages, free daily meals, and on-site medical care to its employees.
A dedicated training academy will upskill young people and women, promoting social and economic development in the region.
“We were looking for an integrated solution that would give us control over our most critical cost drivers — labour, fabric, and delivery performance — while allowing us to operate proactively, not reactively. After reviewing several technology providers, our team unanimously chose Coats Digital because of its deep industry expertise and the strength of its integrated solutions,” Mohammed added.
The facility will utilise Coats Digital’s suite of solutions, including GSDCost, FastReactPlan, and FastReactFabric, to optimise garment production, reduce waste, and ensure fair labour standards.

The project is expected to have a significant impact on Ghana’s economy, with plans to hire 2,000 new employees by January 2026, and a further 1,000 and 7,000 local workers by March 2026 and the end of the year, respectively.
Northshore Apparel’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility is reflected in its zero-waste operating model, which includes anaerobic biodigesters, water recycling systems, and on-site solar generation.
The facility’s location within the West African cotton belt will support shorter, more resilient supply chains, promoting local economic growth and reducing carbon emissions.
