Nollywood on edge as actors Taye Arimoro and Peggy Ovire clash on set, CCTV footage sparks reactions

A heated altercation between Nollywood actors Taye Arimoro and Peggy Ovire has spilt into public view after videos and CCTV footage emerged online, prompting a rush of reaction from fans and colleagues.

The dispute played out at a film location, and both actors have traded accusations, each posting clips and images to back their version of events.

According to actor Taye Arimoro, he was invited to Peggy Ovire’s shoot but decided to leave when the production ran late.

He posted video footage showing himself arguing with crew members who he says blocked him from leaving and refused to hand over his car keys.

In another clip, he shared images of injuries to his mouth and bleeding gums, which he says were sustained during the confrontation.

Peggy Ovire has denied the allegations and posted her own account on social media.

She says Arimoro became aggressive and that he assaulted her driver, who she showed on camera with bleeding from the ear and a bite mark on his arm.

Peggy said she intervened to mediate, retrieved the car key, and later returned it to Arimoro before he left the location.

CCTV footage of the incident has circulated online and shows a tense exchange that includes pushing and a scuffle, though the clip does not clearly resolve who started the confrontation.

The emergence of the footage has intensified debate online, with users and entertainment insiders weighing in and calling for calm and professional conduct on sets.

The back and forth has raised broader questions about safety and professionalism on Nollywood productions.

Industry observers say incidents like this spotlight the need for clearer on-set protocols, stronger production management, and rapid procedures for de-escalation so disagreements do not become physical or public spectacles.

Neither actor appears to have issued a formal police statement at the time of reporting, and it is unclear whether Nigerian law enforcement has opened an official investigation.

For now, the matter remains a fast-moving story on social media and in the entertainment press, with audiences awaiting more footage, witness accounts, or an official statement from the production team.
