Newage Group donates back-to-school items to Six Days Mission School

The 2025/2026 academic year began on a high note for pupils of Six Days Mission School at Okwenya, as Newage Group hosted a colourful Back-to-School Party and donated a wide range of essential learning materials to support teaching and learning.

The donation, aimed at equipping pupils for the academic year and easing the financial burden on parents, included exercise books, storybooks, school bags, and other educational supplies. The event also doubled as a celebration of the birthday of the Group’s Board Chair, Mr. William Akonnor Kotey, adding an extra layer of excitement for the children.

MoU to Boost Infrastructure Development

A major highlight of the day was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Newage Group and Six Days Mission School to enhance the school’s infrastructure.

The first phase of the project, already underway, involves the construction of a fully furnished Junior High School (JHS) block to create a conducive environment for learning.

As part of its long-term support, Newage also plans to spark pupils’ interest in agriculture through mentorship programs and field visits to its operational sites, encouraging them to view agriculture as both a sustainable livelihood and a viable business.

Newage Reaffirms Commitment to Education

Speaking at the event, Mr. Kotey reaffirmed the Group’s dedication to education and youth development.

“At Newage, we believe education is the foundation for sustainable growth in our communities. By supporting these pupils with school essentials, we are not only investing in their future but also sowing the seeds of inspiration for the next generation of agripreneurs and leaders,” he said.

The Headmaster of Six Days Mission School, Mr. Lord Kwetey, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Newage for the support.

“This is a significant moment for our school. Our pupils have received the necessary stationery items to start the year well. We are deeply grateful to Newage,” he said.

CSR Beyond Okwenya

Mrs. Beatrice Nortey, Corporate Services Manager of Newage, highlighted the broader scope of the initiative, describing it as part of the company’s comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda.

“This reflects our wider CSR agenda. Beyond today’s donation, we are extending our back-to-school support to other communities in our operational areas,” she explained.

Pupils Celebrate Memorable Day

The students were equally excited about the gifts and the party.

“I’m so happy for the books and other stationery I received. It will help me in my studies, and the party was so much fun!” said Ama, a JHS 2 student.

Christian, another JHS student, added: “We are grateful to Newage for thinking about us. We will never forget this day.”

Through this initiative, Newage Group, comprising Newage Agric Solutions Ltd, Evivi Foods, Chi-Gaba, WeComm Agri-Media and Consultancy, and Newage Academy, has demonstrated its commitment to community development, proving that its impact extends beyond agriculture to shaping brighter futures for young people.
