A fresh contender has entered Ghana’s boxing scene with the launch of MPT Foundation GH Promotions, a new outfit dedicated to developing young pugilists through professional training and ethical mentorship.
The Accra-based organization will officially debut on July 27 at Infinity Entertainment Centre under the leadership of CEO John Wesley Lawson.
MPT Foundation distinguishes itself through a dual focus on athletic excellence and character development. Its programming combines world-class training facilities with moral formation initiatives, aiming to produce technically skilled boxers who demonstrate integrity beyond the ring. The promotion’s philosophy aligns with growing calls for holistic athlete development in Ghana’s combat sports community.
The launch comes as Ghana seeks to reclaim its historic prominence in African boxing. MPT’s emphasis on structured training programs and competitive platforms addresses key gaps in talent nurturing identified by local sports analysts. With multiple Ghanaian boxers currently ranked in continental and world standings, the new outfit could bolster the pipeline for future champions.
