Many young people often abandon their goals due to overwhelming challenges that threaten their dreams, leading them to give up.
Life Coach and trade and development economist, Frank Otchere, urges young people to embark on self-discovery as it is the foundation for setting meaningful goals.
In his new book, 11 Secrets of a Conqueror, he stressed that understanding one’s personality and aspirations can ignite dreams and provide the energy to pursue them.
The new book, 11 Secrets of a Conqueror, captures the life and journey of Frank Otchere, overcoming life challenges, and inspiring personal growth.
The launch of the book in Kumasi sought to emphasize the need for readers to discover their true selves as the first step toward living with purpose.
The 221-page book authored by Ghanaian lecturer of business and economics at Loughborough University in London, Frank Okyere, guides readers on conquering obstacles and reaching their full potential in life.
“The reader will be able to identify themselves, who they truly are, because this is a guide for self-identification, their purpose in life, so they will be able to identify their purpose and be energized to have dreams based on their personalities and aspirations,” Mr Okyere said.
Initially intended as a novel about his protégé, Isaac Mensah, known as Nimbo, from a challenging background with the slimmest chance of achieving financial independence through professional football, the book evolved into a broader inspiration.
The book details the adversities the author faced, combined with family challenges, leading to the discovery of 11 life principles for overcoming life challenges.
Frank Okyere says the motivational book will kindle the interest to have dreams, put them in action, and pursue them.
“The book inspires a lot. This is not a usual motivational speech that excites people. It’s practical and comes from a real-life experience, from myself and my students. We also give proactively tasks for the ready to be guided by and complete. That’s how it’s able to influence life. Because once you begin to practice them, you will see manifest in your life,” he said.
The event was graced by the Akatakyie fraternity who came to support.
Secretary to the Opoku Ware Old Boys’ Association (Akatakyie), Rodney Nkrumah-Boateng, lauding the author’s courage, reminisced about his encounters with him.
“Indeed, I first got to know him when he was a student at the University of Cape Coast. Over the years, our paths crossed several times concerning our involvement in alumni activities, until we ended up serving together on the executive committee of our alumni body. He led me into some deeply personal developments that were adversely impacting his family life and taking a toll on him. This could have broken many men, but his pleasant outlook marked his internal turmoil, and he never lost faith in his life goals and ambitions,” he said.
Chief of Modauso in the Upper Denkyira West, Nana Owusu Anokye, also added that “I see this book as a guide and not just a book meant for readers to read and enjoy the story in it”.
The “11 Secrets of a Conqueror” book launch brought together well-wishers and reading enthusiasts to officially unveil the book to the public.
