Nafan FC crowned champions of inaugural PAJ Foundation giveback tournament

Nafan FC were crowned champions of the maiden edition of the Prince Amoako Jnr (PAJ) Foundation Give Back Tournament, held on Saturday, December 27, at the Abehease Community Park in Amasaman.

The tournament was spearheaded by 18-year-old FC Nordsjaelland forward, Prince Amoako Jnr, who, despite being in his first professional season with the Danish giants, chose to give back to the Amasaman community where his football journey began.

The give-back ceremony was a colourful spectacle, attracting high-profile guests, football scouts, and investment agencies, including Abdu Investment Group (AIG), an organisation focused on supporting and developing young athletes.

Speaking on the motivation behind establishing the foundation, Prince Amoako Jnr described himself as a product of effective community support.

“I have always been part of what a good give-back can look like because I came through Right to Dream Academy,” he said.

“We know this is a give-back project, so I thought, why not return with the little I have and support the community,” he added.

Nafan FC emerged as winners of the tournament, receiving GH¢4,000, four footballs, and specially designed PAJ Foundation jerseys.

Peace Boys FC finished second and were awarded GH¢2,000, while third-placed Oro Sporting Club took home GH¢1,000. Both teams also received footballs and additional equipment from tournament partners, Abdu Investment Group (AIG).

Nafan FC dominated the individual awards, with Justice Larbi named Best Player and Top Scorer of the tournament. His teammate, Samuel Adjako, won the Golden Gloves award, while head coach Andy Kpodo was adjudged Best Coach. Coach Kpodo received a signed FC Nordsjælland jersey from Prince Amoako Jnr and a cash prize of GH¢300.
