With leaders and authorities of the country and the health sector doing their best to help curb the deadly virus, it looks like citizens, particularly residents of the Chokor community, have totally ignored the directives issued to combat and hopefully eliminate the virus.

A Non-Governmental Organization, (NGO) known as “Give me Hope foundation“ together with `My Help Your Help Foundation“, as part of their duties as an NGO, visited Chokor Community in the Greater Accra Region, on Friday, and donated 5000 pieces of reusable nose mask to the residents of the community as well as educate them on how to use and maintain the nose mask.

They equally donated part of the nose marks to the Palace of the community headed by Nii Addotei Beremah II, who welcomed them wholeheartedly and assured their donations are valuable and would be made for the world to see.

Founder of `My Help your Help Foundations`, Mr.Nicholas Kofie indicated that, they chose chorkor because “ it is made to believe that Chokor and James town, are communities that are financially unstable so together with “Give me Hope Foundations`, we came to donate branded nose Marks to the residents“
However, during the distribution, it came to our notice that majority of the residents were not in nose mask which is worrying as Greater Accra is reported to have recorded the highest number of positive cases in the country ( 20,585)

Majority of the resident gladly accepted the mask, which led to the question, why they were not wearing the mask? Could it be that they can`t afford? Or do not want to where it?
Some residents explained why they were not in one. `I can’t afford the mask, so I’m glad you gave us some“ a resident said. “I don’t wear the mask because I won`t be able to take in alcohol“ another added.
However, some other residents did not have any valid reason to have not worn a nose mask, if you ask them to wear it, they tell you “ I’ll wear it later“.
