Founder and prelate of Perez Dome Chapel International, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, has revealed that his father disowned him during his youthful days for being a stubborn child.
In an exclusive interview with Joy Prime’s Roselyn Felli on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, on Prime Morning, the clergy narrated how he became involved in negative activities like interacting with girls, using marijuana, consuming alcohol, smoking tobacco, and more, all influenced by his peers during his high school years.
He mentioned that these actions resulted in his father, a former soldier at Teshie Barracks, kicking him out, as his dad believed he was not the child he raised in the barracks.
“My dad was a soldier in Teshie Weija barracks, so I grew up in the Weija barracks. I attended Armed Forces Experimental School, and then from there, I went to St. Martin’s Secondary School. In St. Martin’s, I went wild and did all kinds of things. In fact, in Form 5 first term, I was thrown out of school for being a bad boy. If I hadn’t registered for the O’ Levels, that meant that I couldn’t have written the O’ Levels. In fact, it was so bad that my dad disowned me. He thought that I was into drugs and all kinds of stuff. My dad felt that this was not the barracks boy he raised, and so he disowned me,” the Archbishop reminisced.
The Archbishop shared that in his youth, he was on a quest for something and believed that the emptiness he experienced could be satisfied by the activities he engaged in.
According to him, his father relocated from Teshie to Tamale in 1976, pardoned him a year after and requested that he returned home, which he did in 1978. But he could not quit indulging in the acts.
“The same things that I had a problem with, that made my dad throw me out, when I came back, I continued doing them,” he continued.
Also, the Archbishop blamed his unfortunate beginnings on his parents’ divorce, revealing that they separated when he was seven (7) years old.
He disclosed how both parents spoke negatively about one another to their children because of their separation, which prompted him to publish a book named ‘Arrows Rising’.
In his book, he demonstrates that he has shown how fractured families impact children, leading to psychological issues.
