The purpose of this high-profile delegation, led by Alhaji Mahama Asei Seini, Member of Parliament for Daboya-Mankarigu, was to engage with and listen to the concerns of the residents of North Gonja District. The visit took place on Friday, August 23, 2024, and included several communities in the district.
The group, which included District Chief Executive Adam Eliasu, Regional Secretary Mohammed Issah, local constituency executives who play a crucial role in our campaign, and NPP parliamentary candidate Samuel Tika Yeyu, toured the Kutur Banchi and Gua electoral areas.
Their itinerary covered seven communities: Tidrope, Tidrope Fishing Camp, Sinsina, Kagbal, Gua, Gua Fishing Camp, and Kito.
Addressing residents in Kagbal, Asei Seini acknowledged his defeat in the NPP parliamentary primaries, framing it as a natural and respectful aspect of the democratic process.
“The outcome of every election reflects the people’s will and should be respected.
Instead of mourning my primary loss, I urge you to focus on working towards the greater good with Samuel Tika Yeyu for a better future,” he said.
Adam Eliasu also spoke at the event, urging residents to support Samuel Tika Yeyu as their next MP and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as President.
He addressed the ongoing water crisis in the Over Bank area, attributing the issue to the region’s challenging geology, which complicates borehole drilling.
“The water crisis is due to the fractured and faulted rock formations that make finding a reliable water source difficult.
Despite these challenges, the government is working tirelessly to identify a suitable water source to be treated and disinfected for safe use,” Eliasu stated, emphasizing the government’s dedication to the issue.
Mumuni Seidu, a member of the Kagbal Electoral Area Unit Committee, pledged support for Samuel Tika Yeyu and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The delegation’s visit to Over Bank was part of a broader campaign tour across the Savannah Region.
