The newly appointed Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) Board has been officially sworn in at a ceremony led by Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah.

President John Dramani Mahama appointed Moses Asaga, former Member of Parliament for Nabdam, as the new Board Chairman alongside four other members. The team was urged to prioritise transparency and efficiency in overseeing public utilities.

Addressing the board, Chief of Staff Debrah emphasised the government’s urgency to deliver results while ensuring thoroughness in their work.

“Let me, on behalf of the president, thank you for agreeing to work hard for him. And as you all must be aware, this government is in a hurry, but at the same time, we have to make sure things are done meticulously,” he stated.

Debrah further highlighted the administration’s dedication to improving the energy sector and other key services, stressing the importance of the board’s role.

“His excellency is determined that energy sector and all other security services discharge excellently, and so we encourage you as much as possible to pay attention and give out your best so that the government will look good, and the people will be satisfied,” he added.
