The Minority in Parliament is calling on the Government to take urgent steps to safeguard the lives of Ghanaians currently seeking refuge in various parts of Iran, following the worsening conflict in the region.
They have thrown their support behind the temporary closure of Ghana’s embassy in Tehran, describing the decision as a necessary precaution to protect diplomatic personnel and citizens alike.

According to the Minority, proactive evacuation and contingency plans must be implemented to ensure the security and welfare of Ghanaians affected by the crisis.
The appeal comes amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel, marked by a series of retaliatory airstrikes and threats of further escalation.
In recent days, Iran has launched fresh attacks against Israeli targets, prompting renewed hostilities in an already volatile region. Iran’s armed forces have issued stark warnings, declaring that the occupied territories could soon become uninhabitable, a development that has raised international alarm and deepened regional instability.
