Ministry of Lands commiserates with family after fatal shooting at Adelekezu

The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has expressed sympathy with the family of a man killed in a shooting incident at a mining site at Adelekezu in the Western Region, and the residents of the area.

The Western Regional Police Command launched investigations into a fatal shooting at a mining company site in Adelekezu near Dadwen in the Axim District, which claimed the life of a boy and caused significant damage to company property.

The incident occurred on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Police officers who responded to the scene found extensive destruction, including two burnt 4×4 SUVs and two tipper trucks. A pickup vehicle and a Toyota Land Cruiser were also damaged during the disturbance.

In a press statement issued on Monday, December 15, the Ministry said it had taken note of an earlier statement by the Ghana Police Service confirming the incident and the ongoing investigations.
