The Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) has officially launched activities marking the 150th anniversary of the Mfantsipim Senior High School (SHS), celebrating a legacy of excellence, leadership, and national impact built over a century and a half.
The milestone event took place on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the World Trade Center, where the school unveiled its commemorative anniversary cloth and official songs as part of activities lined up for the sesquicentennial celebrations.
Speaking at the programme, Chairman of the 150th Anniversary Planning Committee, Captain John B. Yamoah, lauded the impact of the school on society and Ghana’s development.
Founded in 1876, Mfantsipim is widely regarded as the pioneer of secondary education in Ghana. Over the years, the institution has built a reputation for shaping leaders, instilling discipline, and nurturing generations of young men committed to national service.

From its classrooms in Cape Coast have emerged influential figures who have contributed significantly to Ghana’s development and made an impact globally, reinforcing the school’s enduring legacy.
The 150th anniversary celebration is themed around brotherhood, leadership, and service, reflecting the core values that have defined the institution since its establishment.

Friday’s event also served as a fundraising platform, with old students and stakeholders encouraged to give back to support the continued development of the school.
The anniversary will not only celebrate the past but also chart a path for the future, as Mfantsipim continues its mission of building character and inspiring generations.
