Mfantsiman Old Girls’ Association to old National Health Walk on August 2

The Mfantsiman Old Girls’ Association (MOGA) has announced plans for its annual National Health Walk, set to take place on Saturday, 2nd August 2025, under the theme “Purple Steps, Healthy Hearts, One MOGA.”

The 2025 edition of the health walk will be held simultaneously across all MOGA regional chapters in Ghana and in the diaspora.

The event is expected to draw thousands of Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School alumnae and supporters for a day of fitness, camaraderie, and wellness advocacy.

According to the National Executive Committee of MOGA, the event highlights the association’s dedication to preventive healthcare and reinforces its commitment to nurturing unity among old students.

“This year’s simultaneous walk across the globe reflects our strength as a global sisterhood,” the committee noted in a statement.

More than 500 former students are anticipated to participate, alongside family members, affiliates, and friends of the school.

The flagship event in Accra will begin at 6:30 a.m. from the University of Ghana Stadium Car Park, with participants embarking on a walk across the university campus.

Other regional walks will take place in Koforidua, Kumasi, Swedru/Winneba, Cape Coast, and Takoradi. In a show of solidarity, MOGA has extended invitations to old students’ associations from other leading Ghanaian schools including Adisadel College, Mfantsipim School, Wesley Girls, Holy Child, St Augustine’s College, Ghana National College, and Aggrey Memorial.

The Accra programme will feature a range of wellness activities including an aerobic workout led by certified instructors, free health screenings (blood pressure, glucose, BMI), and interactive sessions with health professionals.

Corporate sponsors supporting the 2025 walk include Voltic Ghana Limited, Blue Skies Company Limited, FanMilk Ghana, Mr. Yoghurt, Aramex, Shades of Sam, Qualicare, and St. Michael’s Hospital. Several media partners are also on board to provide coverage and support.

MOGA Vice President, Shirley Tony Kum, extended an open invitation to the public, health lovers, and corporate bodies to join in promoting wellness and supporting the initiative.

“This event is not only about health, but also about building a strong, supportive community of women who continue to inspire change,” she said.
