She was given a police medical form and referred to the Yilo Krobo District Hospital for treatment due to the severe beatings she endured from the accused.

The prosecution officer mentioned that for about a month, the complainant had been staying with her auntie in the same vicinity due to the abusive behaviour the accused had exhibited toward her recently.

During interrogation at the police station, the accused claimed he was at work when he felt that the complainant was having sexual relations with another man in his home.

He quickly returned to find no one in the room, so he went to his girlfriend’s auntie’s house and began beating her.

The accused was arraigned before the court and subsequently remanded.

Checks by the Ghana News Agency at the Yilo Krobo District Hospital confirmed that the complainant has not lost her unborn child.

Meanwhile, authorities have condemned the attack, emphasizing the urgent need to address the rising cases of domestic abuse.
