President John Dramani Mahama is set to receive the final report on the Bawku peace mediation process on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at a ceremony scheduled for the Jubilee House.
The presentation marks a significant step toward consolidating national efforts to resolve the long-standing tensions in Bawku and its neighbouring communities.
The report represents months of mediation work led by the Asantehene, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, whose leadership has been central to the broader national reconciliation agenda.
According to officials, Thursday’s ceremony will underscore the shared commitment of traditional leaders, state institutions, civil society groups, and international partners to fostering unity and long-term stability in the conflict-prone area.
The event, expected to begin at 10:00 a.m., will bring together senior government officials, the mediation committee, and invited dignitaries.
Traditional authorities and key stakeholders involved in the peace efforts are also expected to attend.
Institutions invited for the presentation include the National Peace Council, Christian Council of Ghana, Office of the National Chief Imam, the Catholic Secretariat, UNDP, the British High Commission, and regional representatives from the Upper East and North East regions, alongside the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs and National Security officials.
