President John Mahama has pledged to complete several stalled infrastructure projects in the Ashanti Region, calling the delays a symbol of broken promises and neglect.
During his Thank You Tour of the region, President Mahama vowed to prioritise key developments, including Phase Two of the Kejetia Market, the Suame Interchange, and the Krofrom Market.
He assured residents that the projects, many of which were not completed by the previous administration, would be completed.
“Projects we will continue and complete in this region include the Kejetia Market Phase Two,” President Mahama said.
“Before coming here, I visited the site and spoke with the contractors. We are going to accelerate the work, and by the grace of God, next year we’ll open the market with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.”
He also pledged to resume work on the Suame Interchange under his proposed Big Push infrastructure initiative and complete markets in Krofrom and Mamponteng by 2026.
Other targeted projects include the Afari Military Hospital, Sewuah Hospital, and the long-delayed Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Maternity and Children’s Block.
President Mahama also promised to rehabilitate the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and finalise the development of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Medical Centre.
