President John Mahama has reportedly directed the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to investigate the official travels of former President Akufo-Addo during his tenure.
Accra-based Asaase Radio reports that government officials insist it is part of broader efforts to ensure accountability in the management of state resources.

These concerns led to demands for greater transparency and accountability regarding government spending on official travel.
Meanwhile, government is yet to publicly comment on the latest development.
