Mahama completed 46 E-Blocks before leaving office in 2016 - Edem Agbana challenges NPP figures

Ketu North MP Eric Edem Agbana has insisted that President John Mahama left behind 46 completed E-blocks before exiting office, and not the 29 that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has often claimed.

Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express, he said, “Sometime in 2018, I may be wrong, but at the time the NPP came into power, the Education Minister Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh is on record to have said that President Mahama and the NDC left behind 46 completed E-blocks.”

He questioned the sudden change in figures presented by the current opposition NPP.

The NDC legislator quizzed, “And so where is the number of 29 coming from when the sector minister who received the handing over notes went around this country, received reports from his directors, gave us another figure of 46, to all of a sudden, 46 were completed. And over a period when you became Deputy Director, did that shrink or what happened to the rest?”

The member of the Education Committee of Parliament was emphatic that the numbers must remain clear.

“So 46 were completed and handed over. And I can recall, if you give me the opportunity before the end of the show, we can give you the entire list, because that was provided at the time. So let it be on record that President Mahama completed 46 E-blocks before he left office.”
