Exhibitors and patrons of the Luv FM Republic Bank Habitat Fair in Kumasi have described the exercise as a great success.
The annual event offered a one-stop shop for the building and real estate industry.
For three days at the Kumasi City Mall, Luv FM created a common platform for real estate and other players in the home industry to engage and sell to homeowners and other prospects.
Exhibitors showcased housing services and products under one roof, as they networked and provided housing solutions.
“We have seen the number of exhibitors increasing from 32 last year to over 50 in this year’s edition. This tells of the growth in interest and opportunities for patrons of the Habitat Fair,” said Isaac Antwi, head of Sales and Marketing at Luv Fm.
The exhibition began on Friday, October 6, 2023, offering patrons the opportunity to explore accommodation options and decide on where to lay their heads.
Headline sponsor, Republic Bank Ghana PLC, showcased an array of cost-effective mortgage plans to suit the needs of consumers.
According to Layla Paintsil, the Fair has been highly impactful.
“The whole point of this partnership is to prepare Kumasi for the mortgage business. By the time Kumasi gets ready for the real estate development and expansion, Republic Bank is what they would know,” she said.
Mortgage Specialist with Republic Bank, Ivy Boateng added that, “this year’s turnout has been great. It has exceeded what we expected. The response from clients visiting our stands has been great. We are getting more clients who are interested in our home completion mortgages”.
Airport City by HDG Homes, Anchora Homes, City Park, Land and Homes Consult, displayed completed houses, providing ownership and renting options for patrons.
Exhibitors in the construction industry, including DBS Industries, mounted raw materials for persons interested in putting up their own homes.
Exhibitors say they were overwhelmed by the patronage and show of interest by the public.
“People have heard about our company, DBS Industries. But they don’t know what we do. We are mainly known for roofing. But they also do not know we are into concrete products too. This fair has given the platform for people to know much about DBS,” said Leticia, a representative of DBS Industries.
Dorothy Bimpong of Airport City by HDG Homes also stated that “the patronage has been good. On Friday, we were worried but they say it rains a lot in Kumasi. Surprisingly, the turnout has been pleasant. We have got some good leads. I believe in the course of the month it will turn to good sales”.
“The people coming around are mostly interested in our doors and waterproof chemicals. A lot of people in Kumasi are suffering from leakages and rising damp problems. That’s where Safety and Homes Solution comes in. We have solutions for everything building,” says Ravi from Safety and Homes Solution.
Some patrons who spoke to Joy News were excited by the reduction in prices of products at the fair compared to prices at the market.
“I have been to those who are in charge of homes. This fair is great. I visited the stands of Sintex. I will locate them to buy drums to store my water,” says Marjorie Sarpong.
“This is my first time at the Luv FM Habitat Fair. I am going for affordability”, said Kwabena Oduro.
The 2023 edition of the Luv FM Republic Bank Habitat Fair is under the theme “Home Ownership; Affordabilty, Comfort or Luxury.”
