This Saturday’s edition of JoyNews’ Newsfile will be focusing on the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primary to elect a candidate to represent the party in the 2024 general election.
Four candidates are contesting for the position but which candidate would emerge victorious in his quest to help the party break the 8?
Also to be dissected is the recent military brutality in Garu and Tempane communities in the Upper East region by a joint force of National Security personnel and the Ghana Armed Forces.
Some residents were subjected to severe beatings with others arrested after some community members allegedly attacked five national security personnel who had been deployed to the area to carry out counter-terrorism work.
Meanwhile, the youth in both communities are demanding the release of the eight persons arrested during the military raid.
The last issue to be discussed is centered on corruption. This follows the Office of the Special Prosecutor stating that it was unable to prosecute former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry who is said to have engaged in influence peddling, an act not codified as a corruption infraction.
