Legal Green Association congratulates newly qualified lawyers on Call to the Bar

The Legal Green Association (LGA) has extended heartfelt congratulations to newly qualified lawyers who were officially called to the Bar and enrolled on the Roll of Lawyers on Friday, October 10, 2025.

In a statement issued and signed by the leadership of the Association, the group described the milestone as “a solemn and momentous achievement” symbolising years of intellectual discipline, ethical training, and unwavering commitment to the study and practice of law.

“Having discharged the burden of proof through diligent study, mooting of legal principles, and submission of arguments both written and oral, you have now been admitted to the Bar — the only learned profession recognised in law, and the most honourable of vocations,” the statement read.

The Association likened the newly qualified lawyers’ academic and professional journey to a well-argued legal case, culminating in what it called “an irreversible legal consequence — the donning of the robes of advocacy and the conferment of the title of Learned Friend.”

The message further underscored the solemn responsibility that comes with being called to the Bar, reminding the inductees of their duty to uphold justice, defend constitutional order, and serve the courts and society with integrity.

“By virtue of this call, you have now acquired locus standi to appear before the courts of law and to perform duties as officers of the court, under oath to uphold the rule of law, promote justice, and defend the constitutional order,” it stated.

Invoking “divine jurisdiction,” the Association prayed for wisdom and grace to guide the new lawyers in their practice, saying:

“May your practice be filled with binding precedents, favourable judgments, and just verdicts. You have fought the good legal fight, endured cross-examination by circumstance, and emerged with an unassailable judgment in your favour.”

In an expression of pride and celebration, the LGA declared symbolic solidarity with the new lawyers, saying it “enters appearance on their behalf” and moves for “a 21-gun salute in legal spirit” as they join the “comity of Learned Gentlemen and Ladies.”

The statement concluded by affirming the Association’s faith in the new lawyers to strengthen the justice system:

“May your name forever be associated with justice, equity, and good conscience. Congratulations, Learned Brothers and Sisters — the Bar is richer because of you.”

The 2025 Call to the Bar ceremony marks the formal induction of hundreds of new lawyers into Ghana’s legal profession after successfully completing their training at the Ghana School of Law. The ceremony, held under the auspices of the General Legal Council, remains one of the most prestigious events in Ghana’s legal calendar.
