LadyStrikers show steady growth after 5 WPL matches

After five rounds of the 2025/26 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, Ladystrikers FC sit 7th on the league table with 6 points, balancing 2 wins, 3 defeats, 5 goals scored and 5 conceded, a competitive start that reflects both resilience and clear progress on the pitch.

With three wins in six matches across all competitions, including a dominant 4–0 FA Cup victory over BIS-Paradise Ladies, the team’s upward trajectory has been supported by strengthened structures, improved squad depth, and the strategic backing of key partners who joined ahead of the season; SamBoad Business Group Ltd, LeoCay Media, Sanford Health Clinics, and World Shoe.

Their inclusion has bolstered the club’s operational, data and media, and welfare systems, contributing to a more professional and performance-driven Ladystrikers.

Matchday 1: FC Samartex Ladies 2–1 Ladystrikers FC

A tough away opener at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena. Ladystrikers showed glimpses of promise but fell 2–1 after early pressure from Samartex. A second-half penalty made the difference despite a spirited finish.

Matchday 2: Ladystrikers FC 2–1 Oak Ladies FC

The first win of the season — and one filled with character. Captain Ellen Gai delivered a brilliant brace and dominated midfield play. The team dictated tempo and showed strong attacking chemistry.

Matchday 3: Hasaacas Ladies FC 1–0 Ladystrikers FC

Away trips to Hasaacas are notoriously difficult, but Ladystrikers pushed the giants to the wire.

A dramatic 90+7 minute penalty separated the sides after a disciplined, tactical display.

Matchday 4: Ladystrikers FC 0–1 Jonina Ladies FC

A painful but competitive contest at home. Agnes Azasi’s 75th-minute strike marked Ladystrikers’ first home loss of the season.

Matchday 5: Ladystrikers FC 2–0 Halifax Queens FC

A convincing and much-needed response. Midfielder Edem Atovor scored both goals (20’, 72’), while defender Deborah Amponsah delivered a near-perfect performance to claim MVP, leading the backline to a clean sheet.

FA Cup Success Reinforces Team Confidence

Outside the league, Ladystrikers FC made a strong statement in the Ghana Women’s FA Cup Round of 64, beating BIS-Paradise Ladies 4–0 in a commanding performance.

This result pushes their overall season record to 3 wins in 6 matches, further highlighting the team’s competitive potential.

With 3 wins in 6 matches across all competitions, we are on a positive path. The goal is steady improvement and a strong finish to the first round.”
