Highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena has officially launched Aso @ 20, a celebration marking the 20th anniversary of his breakthrough hit single Aso, with announcements of a global tour, a remix of the iconic song, and a series of activities honouring his two-decade journey in the music industry.

The launch event took place on Friday 18th July 2025 at Corks Lounge in Osu and was hosted by renowned broadcaster Andy Dosty.

It brought together industry stakeholders and notable personalities such as Fred Kyei Mensah (Fredyma), Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), Epixode, Praye Tiatia, Silva Lady, Haglah, Papa Bills and Lexis Bill.

Kwabena Kwabena himself delivered a short performance, along with appearances from Epixode and Praye Tiatia.

Originally released in 2004 as part of his debut album, Aso featured other timeless tracks such as Ka Kyere Me and Trodom. The song played a pivotal role in establishing Kwabena Kwabena as one of Ghana’s most soulful and distinctive voices.

“It’s an honour to see Aso, now 20 years old, still resonating with audiences and being performed by a new generation of artists,” he said.
