Ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) January 31 presidential primaries, Kwabena Agyepong has urged delegates to view the election as a responsibility to safeguard the party’s founding principles.
Addressing supporters in Kumasi on Tuesday, January 20, Agyepong described the contest as a battle for the party’s soul, insisting that delegates must make choices that reflect unity, integrity, and strategic vision for the nation.
“This primary is a defining moment. Delegates are not just picking a leader; they are deciding the future of our party’s traditions,” Agyepong said. “We must ensure that our actions today do not compromise what the NPP stands for.”
He warned against allowing personal loyalties and narrow interests to influence the outcome, stressing that the party must remain cohesive and focused on winning the 2028 elections. “Our party’s strength lies in solidarity. Those who divide us weaken our chance of serving Ghanaians effectively,” he noted.
Agyepong positioned himself as the candidate best suited to unite all members and restore harmony within the party.
“I bring the experience, vision, and leadership required to maintain NPP’s traditions and lead us to victory. The delegates must choose wisely,” he urged.
