In a heartfelt effort to commemorate World Menstrual Hygiene Day, Inspire Today, an NGO committed to promoting dignified menstruation and gender equality in education, has donated copies of the empowering book Hope for Girls to four senior high schools in Ghana’s Eastern Region.

The initiative, led by Inspire Today’s founding Executive Director, Etornam Sey, reached Krobo Girls’ Senior High School, Mfantsiman Senior High School, and two other schools in the Lower Manya Krobo District, providing girls with a valuable resource that addresses real-life challenges faced during their teenage years.

Hope for Girls, published by Step Publishers, is more than just a book—it’s a lifeline. Serving as a complete guide, it walks girls through critical subjects such as menstrual hygiene management, peer pressure, self-discovery, mental health, and self-worth. In a world where many adolescent girls silently grapple with these issues, the book provides clarity, encouragement, and the assurance that they are not alone.

The reaction from students and school authorities has been overwhelmingly positive. At Krobo Girls’ SHS, students described the book as “timely and relevant,” expressing joy at finally having something relatable in their school libraries. “It feels like someone understands us and is speaking directly to us,” one student shared.

The collaboration between Inspire Today and Step Publishers is rooted in a shared mission: to bring hope, education, and emotional support to young girls, especially those in underserved communities. By equipping school libraries with these books, the two organisations aim to ensure that no girl is left behind due to stigma, lack of knowledge, or lack of access to the right information.

“This is not just a book donation,” said Etornam Sey. “It’s a bold statement that girls matter, their stories matter, and their journey to womanhood should be dignified and well-supported.”
