Kpebu says he now has 15 charges against Kissi Agyebeng as more citizens submit information

Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu says he is building an expanded list of corruption allegations against Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, revealing that he now has 15 charges and expects the number to grow as more citizens continue to provide him with fresh information.

Speaking to JoyNews this morning, whilst on his way to the OSP’s office after his release from custody on Wednesday, December 3, Mr Kpebu said the volume of information being shared with him daily is increasing and requires time to properly assess.

“Just this morning, I got more citizens coming to give me more information… right now, I’m on charge number 15 against Kissi Agyebeng,” he said.

“People say, no, no, no, Martin, wait, we’ll get you more information. So let it roll in. I’m sure after a certain time, I’ll get a sense that it’s okay.”

He indicated that the updated set of allegations could be ready by next week, depending on the quality of information received.

According to him, the final tally will “definitely be more than 15.”

Mr Kpebu made these remarks hours after being released from detention at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

He had reported to the office to assist with investigations into the same corruption allegations he had levelled against Mr Agyebeng, but was held following a confrontation with security personnel at the entrance.

Describing the arrest as “entirely unjustified,” Mr Kpebu claimed it forms part of what he called a “suicide mission” being pursued by the Special Prosecutor.

He argued that the circumstances surrounding his detention point to attempts to intimidate him.

The ongoing tension between the outspoken lawyer and the OSP has added a new layer to public conversations about accountability and the mandate of the Special Prosecutor’s office.

Mr Kpebu is expected to report again at 11 a.m. today for further investigations.
