Aspirant for the National Circles Council Chairmanship, Benjamin Obeng Sekyere, has called on the management of Asante Kotoko to enforce a strict code of conduct to curb growing concerns over player indiscipline.
According to him, the club must adopt a professional approach similar to what exists in corporate institutions, where clear rules and accountability structures govern behavior.
Speaking on Kick Off on Luv FM, the former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Kotoko Circles emphasized that without strong disciplinary measures, the club risks undermining its values, team cohesion, and long-term success.
“What I think we need to do is to enforce our code of ethics at Kotoko, in terms of player management. That aspect is what we need, especially when we have accommodation for them,” he said.
“We need to enforce certain rules, so that anybody who goes contrary to that rule, then you can be punished. Because look some of us who are working, we have code of ethics that you need to go by.
“When you breach any of the code of ethics, you’ll be someone against disciplinary commission.
“Football is a business entity on its own. So when you are employed, you have been employed into the business, you can’t do your own things while somebody is paying you. On that angle, we shouldn’t allow them to do that” he concluded.
