Asante Kotoko secured a 2-1 victory against Hearts of Oak in the President’s Cup final, overturning a first-half deficit to lift the trophy at Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts took the lead when forward Hamza Issah capitalized on a goalkeeping error from Kotoko’s Mohammed Camara, marking the first goal under new Hearts manager Didi Dramani.
Kotoko responded decisively after halftime. Peter Amidu equalized seven minutes into the second half, followed by Kwame Opoku’s winning strike just two minutes later. Hearts nearly leveled late when Emmanuel Amankwah earned a penalty, but his effort was saved by Camara, preserving Kotoko’s lead.
The victory extends Kotoko’s unbeaten run against their rivals to five matches. They add the President’s Cup to their 2025 FA Cup triumph and a top-four Ghana Premier League finish.
