The Registrar’s Office of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) has launched the Registrar’s Office Excellence Awards Scheme, aimed at honouring outstanding contributions, dedication, and hard work of staff within the Office.

The awards, themed “Recognizing Excellence for Higher Productivity,” are in honour of three former KNUST registrars whose legacies continue to shape the university’s operations:

  • The Saint Oswald Gyimah-Kessie Award for Leadership: Recognizing his exceptional leadership and strategic vision.
  • The Sophia Quarshie-Sam Award for Service: Dedicated to Mrs. Quarshie-Sam, the first female registrar of KNUST and any Ghanaian university, for her selfless service and exemplary dedication.
  • The Kobby Yebo-Okrah Award for Creativity and Innovation: Honouring the late Mr. Yebo-Okrah for his creative input and transformative role in the administration of the university.

Additional award categories include the Junior Achiever Award, People’s Choice Award, Special Awards, Appreciation Awards, and the Registrar’s Recognition Award.

KNUST Registrar, Mr. Andrews Kwasi Boateng, stated that the awards seek to recognise staff contributions, foster a culture of excellence, and strengthen administrative structures for the university’s growth. He encouraged staff to embrace the initiative and improve service delivery.
