Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) has bestowed an honor upon King Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I of Ghana, the Chairman of Anamase Royal Alliance Council of Akyem Bosome Anamase in the Eastern Region.

The recognition applauds his leadership in supporting and motivating Ghanaian children to pursue education.

In acknowledgment of King Oyanka’s commitment to the education of all children in West Africa, MMUN has issued a Proclamation appointing him as the Honorary Emissary of Education for West Africa.

In this capacity, he will play a pivotal role in introducing students from West Africa to global opportunities through participation in MMUN’s online programming.

MMUN Chairman Michael Jacobson expressed, “We have collaborated with His Excellency to develop a pilot program addressing the needs of teachers and students. Working with him, we plan to supplement teachers’ salaries who introduce MMUN to their students and provide scholarships to students for our special online conference program.”

Responding to this initiative, King Oyanka emphasised, “The world is changing rapidly, and I do not want the youth of West Africa to be left behind.” Jacobson added that, as the Honorary Emissary, King Oyanka will engage academic leaders and corporate employers in the region to support teachers and youth participating in the MMUN curriculum. King Oyanka expressed, “This is more than an honor; this is a challenging responsibility, and I am proud to accept the challenge.”
